Practices will begin the week of August 25 on Tuesdays and Thurssdays at Mahaney park.

U6 and U8 6:00 - 7:00 pm

U10 and U12 6:00 - 7:15 pm

fall 2008 Saturday Soccerfests games begin Saturday September 6, 1008.

SPRING 2004 PRACTICE GROUPS

volunteers needed:  coaches, coach helpers, field maintenance

Any adult or high school player willing to volunteer as a coach or helper can contact Henry, leave your name and phone number on the club voicemail 724-866-6100  or send your name and phone number to SAYSA; 4928 Tamarack Dr; Sharpsville; PA 16150

coaches:  must be willing to receive training from licensed coaches within the club;  conduct one hour or one and a half hour practices twice per week (M-Fri);  during Saturday Soccerfests supervise the children in your age group with the assistance of helpers.

coach helpers:  basic purpose is to be an extra set of eyes for the coach, to help keep the kids focused

Practice site:  Mahaney Recreation area

Age groups: U6 = ages 5 & 6; U8 = ages 7 & 8; U10 = ages 9 & 10; U12 = ages 11 & 12 {note:  since this is an in-house program there is some laxity in the birthday cutoffs typically enforced by Pa West for travel teams}

Ideal adult: child ratio---1:6 at U6 andU8---1:8 at U10  and U12

Target practice sessions: 60 min for U6, U8; 90 minutes for U10 and U12

All children within an age group will practice together.

U10 and U12's will be organized into standing teams to compete in the weekly "Saturday Soccerfest" at Mahaney Park using standing Pa West small sided game rules modifications.

Game uniforms:  All players will receive a gold jersey from the club.  Sharpsville players can  wear blue or black trunks and knee socks, to be provided by the player.  

No standing teams will exist for the U6 and U8 groups.  At the "Saturday Soccerfest" the children will be randomly assigned to teams as they register each week, also using Pa West age modified rules.

 Fall 2008 session:  Signups will be July 1 - first week of school.  Practices will begin the week of August 24. Saturday Soccerfests will begin the Saturday September 6 and run through mid October11, over 6 weekends.

Spring 2009 session: Signups will be Feb 15 - April 15. Practices should begin about mid  April.  Saturday Soccerfests will begin the first Saturday of May and run through mid June.
